Lucas Meyer Qualifies for the 2012 US Olympic Team Trials Men's Marathon
2/3/2010
Lucas Meyer became the first member of the B.A.A. men's team to qualify for the 2012 US Olympic Team Trials Men's Marathon. Meyer achieved the "B" Standard by virtue of his 1:03:51 at the USATF Half Marathon Championships, hosted by the Houston Half Marathon, on January 17, 2010.
Meyer, former Yale All-American in the steeple chase, competed in that event in the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Eugene, OR.
The last B.A.A. Running Club member to compete in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials Men's Marathon was Terry Shea, who raced in the men's marathon trials in New York City in November 2007. Shea currently serves as an Assistant Coach for the B.A.A.
The date and location of the 2012 US Olympic Teams Trials Men's Marathon has yet to be announced.
