A Strong Showing for B.A.A. Runners at the Jim Kane Sugar Bowl 5 Miler

It was a sea of blue as many B.A.A. athletes raced along the Boston waterfront in the Jim Kane Sugar Bowl 5-Miler on Thursday, July 20th. Wayne Levy and John Noland cracked the top 10 and took first and second respectively in the 40-44 year old division. Ted Fitzpatrick, Josh Gordon, and Tyler McCabe also placed in the top 15 in a strong show of B.A.A. athletes.
The Sugar Bowl is the second stop in the B.A.A. summer series of races. A popular event among Boston-area runners, close to 1400 people participated in this year's race with B.A.A. athletes taking many of the top awards. Josh Gordon was first in the 30-34 year age category while Harry Pino, Chris Smith, Ted Fitzpatrick and Tyler McCabe each took third in their respective divisions. On the women’s side, Lynn Schuler was first among the Masters. In the 30-34 year old division, Suzy Walsh was first and Angela Sorge finished third. Club newcomer Kimberly Nolan was second in the 20-24 year old division.
The next race in the summer series is the Yankee Homecoming 10 -Miler on Tuesday, August 2nd in Newburyport, MA.
